This is a role for someone who lives and breathes social media: who knows instinctively which 40 seconds of a conversation will travel, how a clip should look and sound differently on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and beyond, and how to prove it worked with the numbers. The position is fully funded for one year, and depending on the show’s growth and success may be renewed, growing as the show grows. **About The Bodett Problem** “We’re all born makers, but a lot of us fall out of practice along the way. That’s a Problem.” Tom Bodett In 2027, we will launch The Bodett Problem, a HatchSpace audio production and podcast to be distributed by PRX. We’re finding people around the world who are putting down their phones and picking up the tools and skills to make something — something real — and aim to spur a national conversation that promotes the return of industrial arts training to our schools and a dose of reality to our own lives. The show will be hosted by HatchSpace founder, Tom Bodett, who is also a celebrated writer, radio personality, and lifelong carpenter and woodworker. He’ll be talking to guest celebrities and experts in the trades, as well as hobbyists and fixers and anyone who's put their hands to work in the real world — which is just about all of us. This is not another how-to podcast. It’s a why-to. Exploring just exactly what keeps us from making is The Bodett Problem. And we’re solving it. A pilot episode, show trailer and additional information about our production team and national advisors is available at www.thebodettproblem.com. **About HatchSpace** HatchSpace is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) woodworking school and community workshop in the heart of downtown Brattleboro, Vermont, devoted to the living craft of wood and the art of working together. Since its founding in 2019, HatchSpace has enrolled more than 1,400 students and supports a member community of over 150 people at our 10,000 square foot facility. HatchSpace is growing and uniquely positioned as a laboratory for rural renewal strategies that leverage connection to the forestry products industries, trades and craft training — and The Bodett Problem extends that work to a national audience.
